sennder Raises $70M in Series C Funding

senndersennder, a Berlin, Germany-based digital freight forwarding company, closed a $70M Series C funding.

The round, which brought 2019 funding to a total of $100M, following an earlier $30M Series B, was led by Lakestar with participation from Accel, HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, Project A, Next47, H14 and Scania Growth Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand further geographically and develop its technology and operational capabilities.

Launched in 2016 by David Nothacker, Nicolaus Schefenacker and Julius Koehler, sennder provides a digital road freight forwarding platform that connects enterprise shippers directly with trucking companies digitally and ensures two-way communication while the software also provides real-time tracking via GPS, a continuously updated estimated arrival time (ETA), and automatic notifications of delays.
The company serves enterprise clients across the EU currently operating in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Benelux.
