Capacity Raises $13.2M in Series B Funding

capacityCapacity (formerly known as Jane.ai), a St. Louis-based provider of an AI-native knowledge sharing platform, raised $13.2m in Series B funding.

Backers included Midwest based private and angel investors. The only disclosed investor was Nick Smith, founder and managing partner of Rice Park Capital Management LP.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and product innovation.

Founded in 2017 by David Karandish, , who previously sold Answers.com for $900m, and Chris Sims, and part of the Equity.com incubator, Capacity provides an AI-native knowledge sharing platform for today’s workforce, Its cloud-based system captures tacit knowledge, mines documents and spreadsheets, and connects to enterprise apps, making everything accessible through a single, automated chat platform and maximizing employee productivity. Capacity adheres to industry standard security and data compliance protocols, such as SOC 2 and GDPR, and currently integrates with more than 50 popular workplace applications and platforms.

Customers include one of the top five banks in both the U.S. and Australia, Newell Brands, USA Mortgage, West Community Credit Union, Total Access Urgent Care, Maryville University.
