Backbone Closes $18M Series A Funding Round

backboneBackbone, a Boulder, Colo.-based cloud workflow suite for consumer goods companies, secured an additional $10m in Series A2 financing.

The round, which was led by Foundry Group, combined with the $8m Backbone raised in August 2018, brought their Series A round to $18m over 12 months.

The company, which raised a total of $23m in funding to date, intends to use the capital to increase staffing, advance the platform and expand growth into consumer goods industries like fashion, furniture, home and hard goods, textiles, and more.

Led by Matthew Klein, CEO, Backbone provides a cloud-based workflow solution that streamlines the manufacturing process for consumer goods companies of all sizes. The platform centralizes all design, development, and production information, making it accessible to every member of a team. It offers automated data importing from clients’ own systems and data management through an intuitive interface.
The company now works with more than 150 companies, including digitally-native brands like Allbirds, Warby Parker, Outdoor Voices, Uppababy, Serena & Lily, Betabrand and Parachute Home.
