Some days later the announcement of the acquisition of TumblrAutomattic Inc., the San Francisco, CA-based company advancing website-building platform WordPress.com, acquired ZBS CRM, the WordPress–based CRM plugin founded by developers Mike Stott and Woody Hayday.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

ZBS CRM will get a new name — Jetpack CRM — in the near future, but will continue to provide entrepreneurs and small businesses with a contact-management system delivered through the WordPress platform.
The CRM plugin’s next major release – version 3.0 – is scheduled for late September and will feature performance and extensibility, and introduce Mail Campaigns (among other new features).

The ZBS team is fully distributed.

The ZBS product will add to an existing portfolio currently including WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce (whose parent company, Prospress, was acquired in May 2019), WordPress.com VIP, Simplenote, Longreads, and more. A fully distributed company founded in August 2005 by CEO Matt Mullenweg, Automattic has more than 940 employees working from 71 countries.
Key Investors include Insight Venture Partners, Tiger Global Management, True Ventures, Polaris Venture Partners, Radar Partners, and New York Times Company.
