Kopari Beauty Closes $20M Funding Round

kopariKopari Beauty, a San Diego, CA-based premium coconut-powered lifestyle brand, closed a $20m funding round.

Backers included:
– the Growth Fund of L Catterton,
– Unilever Ventures,
– University Growth Fund,
– among other investors.

The company intends to use the funds to:
– enhance its commitment to product research and development that utilizes its hero ingredient, coconut, to its most elevated capacity,
– fuel its retail and international expansion,
– improve e-commerce for UX/UI and the brand’s subscription platform.

Launched in 2015 as a direct-to-consumer brand, Kopari was founded by Hawaiian-born naturalist and certified-organic chef Kiana Cabell, third-generation beauty experts and industry veterans Bryce and Gigi Goldman, and health entrepreneur and Suja Juice co-founder James Brennan, Kopari Beauty is a coconut-powered lifestyle-beauty brand which combines superfood oil with high-performance ingredients to create natural-born luxury for skin and healthy hair.
