CircleCI Raises $56M in Series D Funding

circleciCircleCI, a San Francisco, CA-based platform for software innovation at scale, closed a $56m Series D funding.

The round was led by Owl Rock Capital Partners and NextEquity Partners, with participation from existing investors Scale Venture Partners, Top Tier Capital, Threshold Ventures (formerly DFJ), Baseline Ventures, Industry Ventures, Heavybit, and Harrison Metal Capital.

The company, which has raised $115.5m in total funding, intends to use the capital to:
– further their extensibility and agnosticism capabilities,
– expand their global presence, and
– provide deeper insights for users to improve the health of their value delivery.

Founded in 2011 and led by Jim Rose, Chief Executive Officer, and Rob Zuber, Chief Technical Officer, CircleCI is a platform for software innovation at scale with intelligent automation and delivery tools.

Since Series C funding in January 2018, the company has recorded an increase in monthly job count from 7 million to more than 30 million each month and the creation of more than 900 CircleCI orbs, which are products of CircleCI’s Technology Partner Program, currently comprised of more than 45 solution provider partners.
The company, which has a global remote workforce, added 75 new employees in the first six months of 2019, with projections to have a total of 300 employees by the end of the year and opened their first international office in Tokyo, along with hubs in Boston and Denver.
