Valimail, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of trust-based anti-phishing technologies designed to stop fake email, raised $45m in Series C funding.
Insight Partners made the investment, which combined with previous backing from Tenaya Capital, Shasta Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, and Flybridge Capital Partners, brought the total funding raised by the company to date to $84m.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the expansion of its product offering, partnerships, and global presence.
Led by CEO and co-founder Alexander García-Tobar, Valimail provides a platform for validating sender identity, both for inbound and outbound email to ensure enterprises can trust the email coming into their inboxes, and their customers and partners can trust the email sent by them.
Paired with existing email security solutions, the company’s solution provides protection against phishing.
Valimail recently expanded its network of VARs, SIs, and email security vendors, including a global partnership with Symantec, which is now actively selling a joint email authentication solution to customers worldwide.
The company also partnered with Microsoft to provide a unique email visibility product to Microsoft Office 365 customers.
