MainVest, a Salem, MA-based investment marketplace allowing local businesses to access capital from investors in their community, raised $3m in seed funding.
The round was led by Rucker Park Capital and Lerer Hippeau with participation from the Uber Alumni Syndicate. In conjunction with the funding, Wes Tang-Wymer, General Partner at Rucker Park Capital, joined MainVest’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its local investment marketplace for small businesses.
