KnowBe4 Raises $300M in Funding; Valued at $1 1 Billion

KnowBe4 Uni LogoKnowBe4, a Tampa Bay, Fla.-based provider of a security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, is to receive $300m in funding.

The round, which brought the company’s valuation at $1 billion, was led by KKR, with participation from existing investors Elephant and TenEleven Ventures.
KKR will be making its investment through its Next Generation Technology Fund, which focuses on investments in software, security, Internet, digital media, and information services.

The company intends to use the funds for global growth initiatives and platform development.

Led by Stu Sjouwerman, CEO, and Kevin Mitnick, Chief Hacking Officer, KnowBe4 provides an integrated security awareness training and simulated phishing platform used by more than 25,000 organizations worldwide. The company helps organizations address the human element of security by raising awareness of ransomware, CEO fraud and other social engineering tactics through a new-school approach to security awareness training.
Over 25,000 organizations worldwide across all industries, including highly regulated fields such as finance, healthcare, energy, government and insurance, use KnowBe4 to mobilize their employees as their last line of defense.

The company has European offices in England, the Netherlands, Germany and offices in South Africa and Singapore.
