LifeSprout Closes $6.5M Seed Financing

lifesproutLifeSprout, a Baltimore-based aesthetics and regenerative medicine company founded out of Johns Hopkins University, closed a $6.5m seed financing round.

The company intends to use the funds for the clinical development and scale-up of the first products from its Regenerative Matrix technology platform.

Backers included:
– Kairos Venture Partners,
– Triskelion Investments,
– Maryland Technology Development Corporation,
– Ginkgo Gofar,
– AngelMD, and
– Medytox, Inc..

Led by Sashank Reddy, MD, PhD, co-founder and President, and Eric Goorno, CEO, LifeSprout provides a proprietary regenerative Matrix platform that comprises biomimetic, biocompatible materials engineered to look and feel like natural tissue.
The first product from this platform – Lumina™ – is a next generation aesthetic filler that combines the proven safety of hyaluronic acid with biostimulatory effects.
The company is developing additional cell therapy products designed to offer powerful regenerative medicine solutions to patients with orphan diseases.

LifeSprout also announced the appointment of Adam Gridley as Executive Chairman of its Board of Directors.
