Jour Closes $1.8M in Seed Funding

Jour iOS app screenshotsJour, a NYC-based journaling app, raised $1.8m in seed funding.

The round was led by early-stage venture capital firm True Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to create Journeys, that will incorporate both audio content and written questions.

Co-founded by Maxime Germain, CEO, Bobby Giangeruso and Justin Bureau, Jour offers a space to maintain a personal journal, encouraging journalers to mindfully reflect and create a record of their lives.
In four months, it organically gained more than 25,000 preorders in the App Store. Since releasing to the public on March 5, 2019, the company’s community has grown to more than 65,000 users.

The app offers a variety of guided Journeys, created with the input of psychology experts. These interactive, step-by-step tracks allows journalers to focus their practices on not what they’ve done in the past and how they can continue to grow.
