Hydrow Raises Further $7M in Series A Funding

hydrowHydrow, a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of a Live Outdoor Reality™ (LOR) rower, raised an additional $7m in Series A funding.

The $20 round was initially led by L Catterton. Additional investments came from Rx3 Ventures (co-founded by Greenbay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rogers), Wheelhouse, The Raptor Group and The Yard Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth as it begins shipping nationwide today, starting with nearly 1,000 early backers who purchased Hydrows through Indiegogo this past fall.

Led by Bruce Smith, CEO and Founder, Hydrow elevates the in-home, connected fitness experience, simulating the sights, sounds and sensations of rowing outdoors from home. Leveraging both its design and innovative technology, it gives users the physical benefits of a superior rowing workout and the emotional lift that comes from being physically on the water, working in synchronicity with a team.
Hydrow features hundreds of live and on-demand rowing workouts, supplemented with yoga and functional strength training.

The system is available on the company’s website for $2,199 with a monthly content subscription of $38.
