Dawex Raises €5M in Funding

dawexDawex, a Paris, France-based data exchange technology company and the operator of a large data marketplace, raised €5m in funding.

Backers included Amadeus (AMS.MC), Itochu Corporation (ITOCY), Bouygues Construction (BOUY.PA), a French web entrepreneur, and historical investor Caisse des Dépôts (via its Banque des Territoires).
Total funds raised from inception reached €12m, including a recent €2.5m grant from Horizon 2020, the European Union Research & Innovation program.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development in Europe and the United States, by establishing itself in Asia and the Middle East, and by pursuing its investment in technology and innovation.

Co-founded in 2015 by Fabrice Tocco and Laurent Lafaye, who remain majority shareholders, retaining full control over the company’s strategy and operations, Dawex is a data exchange technology company and the operator of a large data marketplace, which allows organizations to orchestrate data circulation by sourcing, monetizing and exchanging data directly without intermediary, securely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulations.
Today 7,000 organizations from 20+ industries, such as agriculture, air & space, automobile, financial services & insurance, construction, energy, logistics & transportation, retail, telco, travel & hospitality, use Dawex Global Data Marketplace and Dawex Data Exchange Platform technology to build their data exchange strategy.
