ManyChat Raises $18M in Series A Funding

manychatManyChat, a San Francisco, CA – based provider of a messenger marketing platform, raised $18m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Flint Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Ethan Kurzweil, partner at Bessemer, will join ManyChat’s board of directors while Bessemer partner, Alex Ferrara, will join as a board observer.

The company intends to use the funds to hire across various operational roles including research and development, marketing, and customer success.

Founded in 2015 by Mikael Yang, CEO, ManyChat provides small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with a platform to leverage messaging apps like Facebook Messenger to engage customers in a personalized and conversational way.
Companies from a broad range of industries use ManyChat including e-commerce, online services, and education as well as more traditional businesses such as retailers, gyms, beauty salons, and restaurants among various others.
Collectively, customers have more than 350 million subscribers while over 7 billion messages are exchanged over the platform each month.
