Kuli Kuli Raises $5M in Series B Funding

kuli kuliKuli Kuli, an Oakland, CA-based mission-driven company pioneering the superfood moringa, closed a $5M Series B financing.

The round was co-led by Griffith Foods and eighteen94 capital, with participation from InvestEco, S2G Ventures, Authentic Ventures, VilCap Investments and Rocana Venture Partners, Portfolia, Astia Angels, Next Wave Impact and individuals from Golden Seeds.

The company intends to use the funds to launch its new moringa ingredient business while continuing to scale its moringa powder, bars, and shots business.

Led by Lisa Curtis, Founder & CEO, Kuli Kuli is a superfood brand providing nutritious moringa, which provides a good source of plant protein, iron, vitamins, and antioxidants. The product line include Moringa Energy Bars, Pure Organic Moringa Powder, Organic Moringa Green Smoothie Mixes, and Moringa Green Energy shots.
Over the past five years, the company has built a sustainable supply chain of small moringa farmers while selling tasty moringa products in 7,000 stores. Now it is selling the superfood as an ingredient to other food companies.

Griffith Foods plans to include moringa in its range of ingredient offerings for the company’s foodservice customers, processors, retailers and distributors across 30 countries.
