Forte And Ripple’s Xpring Form $100M Fund

Forte LogoForte, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of blockchain-based platform technology for the games industry, and Xpring, Ripple’s developer ecosystem initiative, have formed a $100m fund to support game developers.

The fund will operate alongside Forte’s platform technologies and include open-source solutions designed in collaboration with Ripple to accelerate the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology in gaming.

Founded by experts in game platform development, game design and publishing from leading companies such as Kabam, GarageGames, Unity, Linden Lab, and Gen.G Esports, Forte is developing blockchain technology platforms and products built for the games industry. Its technology stack includes components designed in close collaboration with Ripple, namely leveraging the open-source Interledger Protocol with XRP serving as a base pair settlement and the container-based hosting solution Codius supporting transactions across blockchains. Backers in the company include a16z crypto, Andreessen Horowitz, Battery Ventures, Canaan Partners, Coinbase Ventures, 1confirmation, and others.

Forte is actively funding game developers who are running live game economies with tens of thousands of daily active users or more and have an active interest in using blockchain technology to improve their business.
