Buoyant Raises $10M in Funding

buoyantBuoyant, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a platform to manage cloud apps with network meshes, raised $10M in funding.

The round, which brought total funding raised to date to over $24m, was led by GV (formerly Google Ventures), with participation from existing investors Benchmark and A Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to further advance the platform’s features and grow the community.

Founded by CEO William Morgan and CTO Oliver Gould, Buoyant develops an open source mesh that gives developers, operators, and enterprises open source tools to operate their Kubernetes and cloud native applications safely and reliably.
The company is the creator of Linkerd (https://linkerd.io), the open source service mesh, which powers production infrastructure at companies around the globe, including Salesforce, Credit Karma, Expedia, BigCommerce, and Paypal.
