Overtime Raises $23M in Series B Funding

overtimeOvertime, a NYC-based sports network for the next generation of fans, raised $23m in Series B funding.

The round, which has brought total funding raised to date to more than $35m, was led by Spark Capital’s Bijan Sabet, with participation from Sapphire Ventures, via its recently-announced $115m Sapphire Sport investment platform, Andreessen Horowitz, Macro Ventures, MSG Networks, Victor Oladipo, Baron Davis, and Carmelo Anthony (who’s investing via his Melo7 Tech II fund), Afore Capital and Correlation Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in content production, build out the team, and go global, pushing into Europe, Asia and Africa.

Led by CEO Dan Porter, Overtime is a sports network which uses tech, new platforms, and new formats to offer videos for young fans including highlights, 20-minute episodes, longer-form series, around sports, lifestyle, and music, via Snapchat and on YouTube.
The company is focused on building a platform for the next generation of young storytellers, who film, produce and edit for the netowrk, full-time, and whose youthful point of view informs the content.
Overtime has over 55 employees in NYC.
