Lightstream Raises $8M in Series A Funding

golightstreamLightstream, a Chicago, IL-based live streaming technology platform, raised $8M in Series A funding.

The Series A included $6M invested from Drive Capital (lead), MK Capital and Pritzker Group, and an additional $2M from Silicon Valley Bank. In conjunction with the funding, Drive Capital General Partner Andy Jenks joined Lightstream’s Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised a total of $9.8M since 2014, intends to use the funds to scale its technical team, new capabilities for its creators, partnerships, and global expansion.

Led by Stu Grubbs, CEO, Jenny Farver, CTO, and Drew Pierce, Director of Streamer Success, Lightstream provides a cloud-based technology platform that allows creators to share passion, talent, and creativity on live streaming platforms like Mixer, Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
In April 2018, the company entered into a strategic partnership with Microsoft’s streaming platform, Mixer. This partnership has integrated Lightstream’s live streaming Studio into the native broadcasting experience for Xbox and Windows users.
