Ionic Security Closes $40M Growth Funding Round

ionicIonic Security Inc., an Atlanta, GA-based provider of a data security technology platform, closed a $40m Series E funding.

The round was led by JPMorgan Chase & Co., with participation from Google LLC as a new investor and current investors Kleiner Perkins, GV, Icon Ventures, Meritech Capital, TechOperators and Ten Eleven Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Rohan Amin, CIO, Consumer & Community Banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co, joined the company’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the openness, and accessibility of its platform.

Led by Adam Ghetti, founder and CTO, and Eric Hinkle, Chief Executive Officer, Ionic Security provides a data trust platform that protects and controls data from creation through consumption everywhere it travels and anywhere it resides, preventing inappropriate data handling with real-time policy, across clouds, environments, and data silos.
The company currently has millions of licensed users, a growing number of application integrations powered by its developer platform, and clients across both private and public sectors.
