Rubrik Raises $261M in Series E Funding; Valued $3.3 Billion

Rubrik LogoRubrik, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based cloud data management company, raised $261m in Series E funding.

The round, which brings total equity raised to date to more than $553m and valued the company at $3.3 billion, was led by new investor Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, and IVP.

The company will use the new funding for general corporate purposes, to support the launch of major new products planned for 2019, and expand investment in go-to-market activities with the company’s partners including Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, SAP, Nutanix, Oracle, VMware, Google Cloud, Pure Storage, and others.

Led by Bipul Sinha, Co-founder and CEO, Rubrik delivers a SaaS software platform to manage and protect data in the cloud, at the edge, and on-premises. The company’s Cloud Data Management software is used by enterprises to simplify backup and recovery, accelerate cloud adoption, and enable automation at scale.
Customers include ASL Airlines, Bioverativ, CarePoint Health, CARFAX, CBRE, Cisco, Clouditalia, Digital River, Empire Life, Expedia, Frost Bank, France Télévisions Publicité, JE Dunn, Jones Lang LaSalle, NWS Holdings, Omnitracs, Sphero, Stora Enso, The Scottish Government, TiVo, Totaljobs, UC San Diego, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, Willis Towers Watson.
