Bowery Raises $90M in Funding

boweryBowery Farming, a New York-based indoor farming startup, raised $90m in funding.

The round was led by GV, with participation from Temasek, Almanac Ventures, General Catalyst, GGV Capital and First Round Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its operations beyond its warehouse in New Jersey, which produces eight types of leafy greens.

Led by Irving Fain, CEO, Bowery uses zero pesticides to produce and sell leafy green products including arugula, butterhead lettuce, romaine, bok choy, basil, and lettuce mixes (branded as spring blend, kale mix, and sweet and spicy mix).
The company’s products are currently available at select Whole Foods, Sweetgreen, Dig Inn, and Foragers locations in the greater New York City area and at two restaurants owned by Chef’s Tom Colicchio, one of the company’s advisors.
