Smart Garden Startup Click & Grow Raises $11M

clickandgrowClick & Grow, a Tallinn, Estonia-based smart indoor garden startup, raised $11m in funding.

The round was led by United Angels VC with participation from Ingka Group, the world’s largest home furnishing retailer operating 367 IKEA stores, and SEB Alliance, the corporate venture arm of the French Groupe SEB, Y Combinator and Yunqi VC.

Founded in 2009, Click & Grow has created electric-powered self-watering indoor gardens that enable people to grow plants hyper-locally. Its products — Smart Garden 3, Smart Garden 9 and the Wall Farm – allow users to grow fresh GMO and pesticides-free food straight from their kitchen without the need for manual watering and fertilizing.
Customers can also buy more than 40 kinds of pods separately or subscribe for delivery.

The company has raised more than $1m via Kickstarter campaigns and has shipped its product to more than 450,000 customers around the world. Its main market currently are the US, EU and Singapore.
