Salsify, a Boston, MA-based only product experience management (PXM) platform that lets brands deliver shopping experiences across every digital touchpoint, acquired Welcome Commerce, an Austin, TX-based chat technology that enables brands to connect directly with consumers on major retailer ecommerce sites.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. The transaction includes all assets and key talent from Welcome. The company’s Co-Founder and President, Dan Herman, joins Salsify as VP Retail Strategy. Their Austin headquarters will now be a Salsify office.
Led by Jason Purcell, co-founder and CEO, Salsify is now offering 50 complimentary chats per month through Welcome’s technology, now known as “Salsify Chat.” Salsify Chat integrates with any chat and customer service tool so shoppers can initiate a real-time conversation with product experts. The technology is used by brands such as P&G, HP, and Purina.
To date, Salsify has raised a total of $98.1 million in funding, led by Greenspring Associates, Underscore VC, Venrock, Matrix Partners and North Bridge.
