Capital One acquired Wikibuy, an Austin, Texas-based provider of a automated online shopping comparison engines.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition will enable Capital One to expand its offering and provide new innovative products for users to save money and make improved financial decisions.
Launched in 2016 and led by Co-CEOs Walt Roloson & Adam Gauvin, Wikibuy provides a platform to check other retailers for better prices, and search for working coupons.
Commenting on the deal, Joe Poellnitz, SVP of US Card at Capital One Financial, said: “We believe that consumers want intelligent, real-time banking tools that proactively anticipate and deliver on their needs.
“With Wikibuy, we’ve acquired an innovative startup that helps customers save time, money, and enables them to shop with confidence.”
Wikibuy will continue to be based in Austin.
