Birdie, a London, UK-based AgeTech startup, closed a €7m Series A funding round.
The round, which brought total funding raised to date to €9.5m, was led by AXA.
The company intends to use the funds to finalize the product, strengthen its R&D, grow the sales team, expand in the United Kingdom and launch in another geography.
Led by Max Parmentier, CEO, Birdie is building a holistic home care platform to foster independent living of the elderly. Through apps and home connected devices, the system allows older adults to live at home healthier and independent while helping the care community to deliver tailored care.
Birdie optimizes care in three ways:
– by digitizing admin and reporting;
– by facilitating communications and the sharing of information of an older adult’s care between care professionals, families and other health practitioners; and
– bny allowing families to follow their people’s health and wellbeing 24/7 .
The company is also developing health analytics leveraging the data captured by care professionals and the remote sensors. Its algorithms track health conditions, predicts issues at risk of worsening and alerts the right people at the right time.
