Banuba Secures $7M in Funding

BanubaBanuba, a London, UK-based artificial intelligence lab specialising in computer vision and augmented reality, secured a further $7m in funding.

Backers included VP Capital and Larnabel Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds for the continued development of its technology, which enhances the capabilities of cameras on smart devices, opening up new opportunities for companies wishing to launch AR-based apps, as well as for end-users.

Banuba is an artificial intelligence lab specializing in computer vision and augmented reality. The company develops computer vision technologies that allow developers to create an endless spectrum of filters, augmented 3D models and more, all utilizing the capabilities of the mobile camera.
Banuba is also announcing the launch of its new SDK which enables brands to use 3D Face AR in their apps, meaning users can benefit from face motion tracking, facial analysis, skin smoothing and tone adjustment. The SDK also enables app developers to utilize background subtraction, which is similar to ‘green screen’ technology regularly used in movies and TV shows, enabling end-users to create a range of AR scenarios.
