ARtGlass Closes $1.3M Angel Funding Round

ARtGlass' augmented reality softwareARtGlass, a Richmond, Va.-based wearable augmented reality startup, closed a $1.3m angel funding round.

Backers included:
– Cavalier Angels (University of Virginia alumni),
– Central Virginia Angels,
– Charlottesville Angel Network,
– Trolley Venture Partners,
– The Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) GAP Funds, and
– prominent business executives.

The company intends to use the funds to bolster its proprietary software platform, enhance intellectual property and scale deployment to additional iconic historic and cultural sites in North America.

Co-founded by Greg and Marion Werkheiser, who are also founders of Cultural Heritage Partners, a law, policy and business strategy firm serving the cultural heritage sector globally, and CTO Luigi Percuoco, who previously led IT, marketing and business development projects for IBM, IGT, Fiat, SSB and Gtech, ARtGlass provides augmented reality experiences on smartglasses to cultural and historic sites.
More than 750,000 visitors at iconic museums and archaeological sites in Europe have enjoyed ARtGlass tours to date.
