XtalPi Closes $46M Series B-1 Extension Financing

XtalPiXtalPi Inc., a Cambridge, Mass.-based computation-driven biotech startup integrating quantum physics, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud computing to empower pharmaceutical research, raised $46m in Series B-1 extension financing.

The round, which brings total funding raised to date to over $66m, was led by China Life Healthcare Fund with participation from SIG and Yael Capital.

The company intends to use the funds for continuous market growth and expansion of the application of its technology into new areas of pharmaceutical research.

Founded in 2014 by a group of quantum physicists at MIT, XtalPi integrates quantum physics and AI to create computational drug discovery and development applications that predict important drug properties of small molecules, enabling researchers to accelerate and de-risk pharmaceutical innovations.
