Pulumi Raises $15M in Series A Funding

pulumiPulumi, a Seattle, WA-based cloud native development platform, secured $15M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Madrona Venture Group with participation from Tola Capital. As part of the funding, Sheila Gulati, managing director of Tola Capital, will join S. Somasegar, managing director of Madrona Venture Group, on Pulumi’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and adoption of its cloud native development platform for teams of all sizes.

Launched in June 2018 by developer tools veterans Joe Duffy and Eric Rudder, Pulumi provides a Cloud Native Development Platform that enables teams to get their serverless, container, infrastructure and Kubernetes code to the cloud. Its SDK is used to define, deploy and manage cloud services using familiar languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and Go), with collaboration capabilities for teams and enterprises.

The SaaS works across public cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, in addition to private and hybrid clouds built with Kubernetes, OpenStack and VMware.
