Lorem, a New York-based marketplace for freelance website developers and designers, secured $2.5m in funding.
The round was led by Flybridge Capital Partners, with participation from HubSpot, FJ Labs and Fresco Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to hire top talent.
Founded in 2017 by Charlie Fogarty, COO, Lorem provides a platform that connects business owners to a curated, professional network of freelance website designers and developers to work on task-based projects at an affordable price.
By conducting an assessment of a freelancer’s technical background, professional experience and client service, the company assures businesses are matched with the right expert to address their design and development needs.
It has helped over 1,000 businesses and onboarded hundreds of freelancers since the platform launched from beta in Spring 2018.
Lorem, which previously raised $1.1m from Flybridge Capital Partners, Founder Collective and a number of angel investors, is a graduate of the Techstars Boston accelerator.
