Mrs Wordsmith, a London, UK-based provider of illustrated and animated word products for the education industry, raised $11m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Trustbridge Partners with participation from returning investors Reach Capital and Kindred Venture Capital.
The company, which has raised a total of $14.5m to date, intends to use the funds to expand its product narrative and add a new animated vocabulary game and video to its suite of products in early 2019, and grow to the U.S. and China markets.
Launched in 2016 by Founder and CEO Sofia Fenichell, Mrs Wordsmith has created an innovative vocabulary program which combines data science and creativity to illustrate the 10,000 words that matter for academic success.
Since launch, the company has experienced triple-digit growth year-over-year and shipped more than 200,000 units. It officially launched its U.S. store in June 2018, which now accounts for 85 % of its revenue.
