Hero Raises $12m in Series A Funding

heroHero, a NYC-based healthcare startup, raised $12m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Brainchild Holdings with participation from Naval Ravikant, Box Group, Third Kind Venture Capital and Refactor Capital, among others.

Led by Founder and CEO Kal Vepuri, Hero provides a medication management and adherence platform for caregivers to monitor and gain insight into the medication regimen and adherence of patients suffering from chronic conditions such as Heart Disease, Diabetes, Parkinson’s Disease, Cancer and Depression.
The solution includes:
– a passcode-protected, countertop device that eliminates pre-sorting while automatically storing, dispensing, tracking, reminding and intelligently ordering refills based on doses remaining and/or expiration of medication.
– an iOS and Android app that creates and manages all medication regimens; sends notifications to caregivers and patient regarding taken, skipped and additional doses; provides real-time access to drug information; and tracks adherence over time.
– a fill service that prompts and manages the delivery of prescription medication, overthe-counter medication and supplements directly to the home, at no added cost.
