Geltor, a San Leandro, CA-based bio-design company, raised $18.2m in Series A financing.
The round, which brought the total funding raised to $23m, was led by Cultivian Sandbox Ventures, with participation from Gelita and ADM Ventures, Archer Daniels Midland Company, and Cavallo Ventures and Box Group.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its product offering of 100 % animal and GMO-free proteins.
Founded in 2015 by Alexander Lorestani and Nick Ouzounov, Geltor is a bio-design company creating designer proteins, starting with collagen. Its proteins are 100 % animal-and GMO-free, and are cultivated using a sustainable fermentation process.
