Fusion Coolant Raises $8M in Series C Financing

fusionFusion Coolant Systems, a Canton, Mich.-based maker of supercritical carbon dioxide, raised $8m in Series C financing.

The round was led by Material Impact and Michigan Capital Advisors, with participation from existing investors including MINTS- Michigan Investment in New Technology Startups, Amherst Fund and Invest Michigan.

The capital will be used to grow the company’s staff, operations, equipment and personnel.

Founded by Steven Skerlos, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Fusion Coolant Systems has commercialized patented technology that uses CO2 as a cutting fluid to reduce the costs of manufacturing in large sectors such as medical, aerospace, and automotive.
