Apprenticeship Startup WhiteHat Raises $4M in Seed Funding

whitehatWhiteHat, a London, UK-based apprenticeship startup, raised $4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Village Global, ShopTalk and Money 20/20 founder Anil Aggarwal, and Wendy Tan White. In conjunction with the funding, Nakul Mandan, partner at Lightspeed, will also be joining WhiteHat’s board.

Launched in 2016 by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman, WhiteHat aims to build an alternative to university through high quality apprenticeships. They match ambitious non-graduate talent with apprenticeships across a wide range of sectors — including tech, professional services, finance and retail — and deliver applied learning in partnership with General Assembly, Flatiron School, and other leading content providers.
The apprenticeships last a minimum of 12 months and provide opportunities in digital marketing and social media, software engineering, accounting and finance, leadership, and business administration.
The company already works with over 150 major employers — including Google, Facebook, Warner Brothers, Burberry and BP to recruit and train apprentices, providing nationally recognized qualifications and long-term career prospects.

WhiteHat is also announcing that Josh Bersin – an independent analyst and founder of Bersin™ by Deloitte – is joining the company as an advisor.
