Public Goods Raises $3M in Seed Funding

public goodsPublic Goods, a NYC-based a direct-to-consumer brand selling basic necessities, raised $3m in seed funding.

The round – which brought the total capital raised to date to more than $4m – was led by Yes VC with participation from Listen Ventures, Day One Ventures and existing investors. In closing this round of funding, Caterina Fake, General Partner at Yes VC and Rick Desai, Partner at Listen Ventures will join Public Goods’ Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the new funds to expand into new product categories such as food and drink, which will be launching this fall.

Led by founder and CEO Morgan Hirsh, Public Goods offers premium, natural, and environmentally conscious products including home and grooming essentials, with plans to launch new products monthly.
Early investors in the company include Joe Montana and Skip Battle, former CEO of Ask.com who serves on the Board of Directors at companies including LinkedIn, Expedia, and Netflix.
