IoT Cloud Platform Mode Raises $3M in Series A

modeMode, a San Mateo, CA-based IoT cloud platform to connect devices, raised $3m in Series A funding.

The round, which brought total funding raised to date to $5m in total, was led by True Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its team, scale operations, and connect millions of additional sensors to the cloud.

Co-founded by CEO Gaku Ueda and Ethan Kan, Mode collects data from the physical world to allow businesses in areas including factory automation, automotive technologies, and bio-medical sciences to understand, automate and make decisions.
The company specializes in moving sensor data from the physical world to the cloud. Specifically, the solution allows businesses to get data from their sensors to their preferred business applications, enabling operational improvements and valuable insights. The solution rivals typical IoT platform solutions, which can be complex and require considerable custom software development to use.
