WeeCare Raises $4.2M in Seed Funding

WeeCareWeeCare, a Los Angeles, CA-based early childcare access platform for caregivers to start and manage curriculum-based home daycares, raised $4.2M in seed funding.

The round was led by Social Capital, with participation from Fuel Ventures Previous, Fika Ventures, Amplify Partners and Wavemaker Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Adam Nelson, Partner at Social Capital, will join the board.

The company intends to use the funds to support growth deepening roots in Southern California and assist with expansion into new regions – with two additional cities to be announced this year.

Led by Jessica Chang, CEO and co-founder, WeeCare provides services and platform for caregivers and educators to start curriculum-based, in-home daycares, offering a complete management solution. Via a mobile app, providers receive support and resources for opening a daycare including essentials such as licensing, home preparation, insurance and business training. In addition, the platform digitizes enrollment, automates the billing process, generates a website listing, offers comprehensive marketing tools and creates curriculum to help providers offer education-based care.
WeeCare created and established its curriculum in partnership with Esther Wojcicki, Ph.D, a renowned educator, author and advisor specifically focused on the importance of early childcare education and a unique blended learning approach.
