Gecko Robotics Secures $7M in Funding

Gecko RoboticsGecko Robotics, a Pittsburgh, PA-based developer of robotics technology for industrial infrastructure inspections, secured $7m in funding.

Backers included Founders Fund, Mark Cuban, The Westly Group, Justin Kan and Y Combinator.

The company is using the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Jake Loosararian, Gecko Robotics make robots for industrial inspections, starting in the Power Industry, serving clients across the United States and internationally. The robots can climb tanks, boilers, pipelines and other industrial equipment using proprietary magnetic adhesion, ultra-sonics, lasers and a variety of sensors to inspect structural integrity.
Gecko was in the YC Spring 2016 cohort.
