ClearSky Raises $244.7M for First Security Venture Capital Fund

clearskyClearSky, a venture capital and growth equity firm, raised $244.7m for its first security fund.

According to a regulatory form filed with the SEC, ClearSky Security Fund I LLC has been supported by 94 investors.

The final target of the fund is $300m.

Led by Alexander Weiss, Jay Leek, James Huff, James Goldinger, and Peter Kuper, ClearSky is currently investing through two funds:
– ClearSky Power & Technology, which invests in innovative companies providing technology and services to enterprise customers, with a special focus on the power sector; and
– ClearSky Security, which invests in companies that offer transformative solutions for cyber-security, industrial security and critical infrastructure security.

The firm, which has offices in Florida, New York, Boston and San Francisco, has been operating since 2012.
