Founded in July 2014 by CEO Morgan DeBaun, Jonathan Jackson, Aaron Samuels and Jeff Nelson, the tech and media company aims to build products and experiences for black millennials via its brands (Blavity News, AfroTech, 21Ninety, Shadow & Act and Travel Noire), which reach more than 7M millennials a month in total.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in all of the above brands and open up a new office in Atlanta.
