Financial Communications Provider Cloud9 Technologies Raises $14M

Cloud9 Technologies, a NYC-based financial communications provider, completed a $14m Series B funding.

The round was led by Barclays with participation from JPMorgan and NEX Group.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development and global roll-out of its platform.

Founded in 2014 and led by Gerald Starr, CEO, Cloud9 Technologies provides a trader voice cloud-based communications platform, a digital trading solution for the voice trading community. It offers immediate access to a pool of liquidity; interoperability with third-party systems; and real-time provision of audio, trading metadata and transcription.
In addition to its investment, Barclays will work with Cloud9 on the acceleration of the company’s adoption across the industry. This follows JPMorgan’s earlier decision to onboard more than 2,000 internal traders and salespeople to Cloud9 as its primary tool for voice communication between the bank and its clients globally.
