Spotahome Raises $40M in Series B Funding

Spotahome, a Madrid, Spain-based rental property listing service, raised $40m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its business reach.

Founded in 2014 and led by Alejandro Artacho, chief executive officer, Spotahome is a listing service for medium to long-term apartments and room rentals with around 50,000 properties listed in 33 European cities, including London, Berlin, Vienna, Sevilla, Valencia, Brussels, Dublin, Dubai, Granada, Athens, Istanbul, Lisbon, Riga, Porto, Prague, Lille, Vilnius, Florence, Warsaw, Krakov, Lodz, GdWroclaw, Turin, Gdanks, Lyon, Bologna, Bilbao, Barcelona and Rome, among others.
The platform allows users to rent an apartment, house, room or student residence via the app and the website, charging a fee based on the contract value of the rental, which is split between both the tenant and the landlord.
