Potamus Holdings, LLC, the parent company of Potamus Trading, LLC, a Boston, MA-based broker-dealer operating low-latency, co-located trading infrastructure, received a strategic investment from SBI Crypto Investment, a wholly owned subsidiary of SBI Holdings, Inc., a provider of internet-based financial services based in Tokyo, Japan.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company will use the proceeds to expand its global reach.
Founded in 2012 and led by Kristin Linnell, Managing Partner, Potamus Trading operates a proprietary technology platform that provides algorithmic execution services to buy-side institutions at zero commissions and offers transparency in execution as well as reviews of execution quality through a variety of metrics.
It is currently accepting new clients onto its platform.
