Mobility Startup GoKid Raises $1.5M in Equity Funding

GoKid, a New York City-based mobility solution for schools, teams and families to coordinate kids transportation, raised $1.5M in funding.

Backers included VilCap Investments, a venture capital fund affiliated with Village Capital.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.

Founded in 2015 by Stefanie Lemcke, CEO, GoKid is a complete carpool applications that enables families to set up and manage carpools with people they know and trust. Functionality enables automated scheduling, driver selection, notifications, chat functionality, GPS, and route mapping,
It is available on iOS, Android and web, and has begun integrating with select vehicle OEMs.

The company, an alumnus of Techstars Mobility and backed by Fontinalis Partners, Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion Ventures, and Deutsche Bahn, has users in 650 cities in 25 countries.
