Flexible Workspace Provider Breather Raises $45M in Funding

Breather, a Montréal, Quebec, Canada-based and NYC-based global provider of flexible and private workspace, raised approximately $45m in financing.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures and other firms including la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Ascendas-Singbridge and Temasek.

The company is using the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2012 by Julien Smith, CEO, and Caterina Rizzi, Breather provides an on-demand, flexible, and private workspace offering spaces in more than 300 buildings across ten cities (London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Toronto, Montreal, and NYC).

The company, which has raised nearly $120m in total funding, partners with landlords in each of its markets to create private workspace solutions for their growing portfolios. Each location is available on-demand, for any length of time, with no membership or subscription fee.
