ezCater, a Boston, MA-based marketplace for business catering, raised $100m in Series D funding.
The round, which brings total funding to $170m, was led by Wellington Management Company LLP, with participation from existing investors Icoinq Capital, Insight Venture Partners, and others.
The company intends to use the funds to extend its market leadership, deepen its products, and expand internationally.
Founded in 2007 by Stefania Mallett, CEO, ezCater give business people the opportunity to find local catering providers and order from them online and restaurant operators the opportunity to grow their businesses.
Over the past year, the company has expanded its catering product suite for restaurants, launching:
– ezOrdering, which enables restaurants to take online catering orders from their own website;
– ezManage, which lets them manage and understand their catering orders; and
– ezDispatch, which connects them to vetted and reliable delivery companies.
Customers include organizations of all sizes and industries, including Astra Zeneca, Redfin, Tesla, and 90 percent of the Fortune 500 while over 60,000 restaurants and caterers partner with ezCater.
Partners range from local independent restaurants to national chains such as California Pizza Kitchen, Firehouse Subs, and P.F. Changs.
