Golden Ventures (formerly known as Golden Venture Partners), a seed-stage venture capital firm based in Toronto and investing across North America, closed its third fund, Golden Ventures III, at CAN$72m.
Golden Ventures III’s LPs include family offices and individuals, Northleaf Capital, HarbourVest, Kensington Capital Partners, Teralys Capital, and new US institutional fund of fund LPs Cendana Capital, Foundry Group Next and Venture Investment Associates.
The fund will invest in 20 to 25 companies at seed stage while reserving follow-on for future investment rounds. The firm will continue to invest across Canada and the United States with its core investment geographies being Toronto/Waterloo, Bay Area, Los Angeles, Boston and New York, but also open to new geographies.
