Francisco Partners To Acquire Renaissance

Private equity firm Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire Renaissance, a Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.-based provider of pre K-12 learning analytics solutions.

The financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2018, were not disclosed. The sellers were Hellman & Friedman and its other stockholders.
In conjunction with the closing, Chris Bauleke, the former CEO of myON, now a part of Renaissance, will succeed Daniel Hamburger as Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance. Hamburger will remain with the company as a Special Advisor.

Renaissance provides a pre-K–12 learning analytics platform, enabling educators to analyze, customize, and plan personalized learning paths for students, to create learning experiences in the classroom.
In March, the company acquired digital literacy solution provider, myON®, from Francisco Partners to leverage its digital content library and literacy tools and deliver a comprehensive suite of reading solutions to educators and students.
Renaissance products are used in approximately one-third of U.S. schools and more than 70 countries worldwide.

By working with Francisco Partners, the organization plans to continue to evolve its solutions and expand its global presence to serve additional school districts around the world.
